David Walliams lost his contract with longtime publisher.

David Walliams

Acclaimed writer for children and TV personality David Walliams has parted ways with his UK book publisher, as confirmed by the firm.

A representative for the firm stated: "Upon deliberation, and with the guidance of its new CEO, HarperCollins UK will not be releasing additional books by David Walliams."

Reports indicate that the move was reached following an review of claims about inappropriate behaviour directed at female individuals.

The company declined to specify the motivations for this action, noting: "We refrain from speaking about private personnel issues."

A Highly Successful Writing Journey

Walliams is one of the UK's most prolific writers for young readers, having sold in excess of 60 million copies internationally in 55 languages.

His inaugural foray into kids' literature, *The Boy in the Dress*, was published by HarperCollins fifteen years ago.

A number of his books, for example *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have also been adapted into TV movies.

To date, he has released over four dozen titles altogether, which features a holiday title titled *Santa & Son*, which came out under HarperCollins this past October.

From Screen to Page

He first rose to fame on the broadcast sketch program *Little Britain* and has also won National Television Awards for his role as a panelist on *Britain's Got Talent*.

He was awarded an OBE several years ago honoring his contributions to philanthropic and artistic endeavors.

This development follows the selection of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's new chief executive last fall.
